The Greek Community at the University
of Oklahoma is dedicated to community service and philanthropy. Delta Upsilon
has long been a leader in these charitable pursuits on campus and in the Norman
community. Below are a few of the philanthropies that the chapter house has
been involved in during the past year.
Run to Dallas
Each fall, the DU chapter and a top sorority host
"Run to Dallas" before the annual OU/TX football game. This event is a raffle
that raises funds for various organizations. On October 8, 2003, Delta Upsilon
paired with Chi Omega to raise almost $4,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and
a scholarship in the name of fallen brother Austin McKaig. Past speakers at the
event have included Heisman Trophy winner Steve Owens, Sooners basketball
coach, Kelvin Sampson and Director of OU's Women's Basketball, Bill Pink.
During the month of October, Delta Upsilon, along with a sorority of our
choice, holds our traditional "Run to Dallas party. This is the one of the
biggest philanthropic events at the University of Oklahoma, contributing
thousands of dollars to charitable organizations such as Steve Owen's
Thunderbird Clubhouse, the American Cancer Society, the American Lung
Association and Boys and Girls Club of America.

Coast Guard Philanthropy
Each spring, the men of Delta Upsilon
host OU's fraternities and sororities for a friendly sand volleyball
tournament. The event coincides with our annual spring beach party. Proceeds
for the Coast Guard philanthropy benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma
County. The Boys and Girls Club is Delta Upsilon's national philanthropy.
Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma County
Since the Boys and Girls Club of America is Delta
Upsilon's national philanthropy, the chapter spends a Saturday at the Boys and
Girls Club of Oklahoma County each semester. The day is a rewarding experience
for both the children and fraternity members alike.

Relay-for-Life
On April 26, 2004 a portion of our brotherhood
participated in the Oklahoma Chapter of the American Cancer Society's "Relay
for Life." The brothers raised over $1,500 for the all-night event.
